Community Garden gets Lottery boost

Volunteers working on the new Wellsbourne Community Garden received a great boost today when the National Lottery Community Fund announced it was awarding the project £9,467.

Dt Christa Beesley, GP and co-founder of Wellsbourne Healthcare CiC, said, “We are hugely grateful to the National Lottery Community Fund. Our community has officially 0% of green space so this garden will be fantastic – a place for people to sit and relax and also somewhere we can meet our patients when we don’t need to be inside”

Wellsbourne Healthcare has appointed a Volunteer Coordinator to oversee the project and make sure volunteers have everything they need. Mala Nathan, the new Coordinator, says, “Everyone of all ages and abilities is very welcome to join in. No skills or experience is needed, and we have all the tools. If anyone has particular skills to offer, like carpentry, building, landscaping or organising events, then please come and share those too”

New volunteers are invited to drop Mala a line at [email protected]
