WHCIC are working with Bridging Change to improve diabetes care. We are looking for patients who can help us. If you have been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes or Pre-Diabetes, we would like to talk to you about your experience. This will involve in-person group discussions later this year. There is £100 available to patients who are able to attend all group discussions.
Who are Bridging Change?
Bridging Change are a local Brighton organisation which aims to create a more equal and diverse society with positive outcomes for Black Asian and minoritised ethnic people. Through building strong alliances, connections and networks.
Bridging Change was established by Nora Mzaoui and Dr Anusree Biswas Sasidharan who met as fellow elected Community Works Reps, representing Black, Asian and minoritised ethnic communities in Brighton and Hove. Nora Mzaoui also works for Wellsbourne Healthcare as a Focused Care Practitioner.
What is the aim of this project?
We would like to find out what prevents people from accessing diabetes healthcare. We think that the best way to do this is to ask them! We want to know what your experience of healthcare has been like at your GP practice, at the hospital, and at any of the diabetes education programs which run in Brighton and online. Once we know what is stopping people from accessing diabetes care, we will be able to find ways to help.
What if I want to know more?
You can email us at [email protected] or call Wellsbourne Healthcare on 01273 005444 to leave a message for the Let’s Talk Diabetes team.
