Photos & Thanks from the Summer Solstice Garden Party Yesterday

Thank you for coming to our lovely Summer Solstice Party in the Wellsbourne Community Garden .

The sun came out for us and we had loads of lovely visitors, from the over 50s group, a few of our Wellsbourne Garden Crew from Aurora school, Puzzle Bored, Wellsbourne Community Cafe Brighton Uni and our lovely local councillor Gil Williams.

Thankyou to Roundabout Centre for loan of tables, and to Paula for our tea and cake tent.

Sarah and Shona made some fabulous cakes and scones and we had plant give away’s. Nora and Liza for helping with badge making. We had the cool Crew Club 😎 with their punch bag .Val did 100 punches in a minute 🥊. Thanks to Keith from Touchwise and Eva the Diva for providing chair massage. We had a superb slide show of lovely garden photos provided by our garden volunteer Vicky featuring a rare green cricket discovered by volunteer Beau – who ran the creature feature stall.

There was a lot of enjoyment at the crafting areas with Ian our Resident Artist on mini stonehenge making and Sarah from Manor Gym sewing food memory squares ❤️.

The Menopause information table was busy, Natalie and Sam will be hosting a tea morning for more menopause chat at the Crew Club at the beginning of July.

Thank you to Salihah for handing out leaflets, help with setting up and all the help in the garden. Thanks to John for chopping down our dead tree and continuing to chop fire wood. Many thanks to the lovely Jools our garden manager from Fork and Dig It, for organising us and teaching us so much about the garden, it really is looking lovely and we’ve still got lots of plans.

Lastly and by no means least, a massive thank you to Lucy our Volunteer Coordinator for organising the whole Summer Solstice Garden Party. It was a real triumph. Thank you.
