Wellsbourne Community Garden Update

It was scorching in the garden yesterday, but we had plenty of water and melon…and apple cake, to keep us going. We worked very hard and planted out peas, tomatoes and beans and filled the pot, which previously housed Terry the Cherry, with new compost, ready for the dahlias. The purple flowering plant is called phacelia and often grown by farmers as a green manure. It has a lovely scented flower and bees love it.

Don’t forget next week is our Summer Solstice Garden party in the Community Garden between 2 and 4pm. Come and have a cream tea and build your very own mini stone henge.
