YOU ARE INVITED!

To the HERA exhibition – May 2024 Artists’ Open House

The HERA Project uses expert-led arts and creativity sessions to enhance the quality of life, functional health, and wellbeing of people living with ongoing health conditions. Our Open House exhibition showcases work created by HERA participants from across Brighton and Hove. We are inviting you to visit our exhibitions and attend an event to find out more about the benefits of Creative Health.

The HERA exhibition is open to the public during May 2024 AOH season at the following GP surgeries:

Please see surgery websites for opening times. Booking links for the events are below.

Art, music, creative writing, dance, photography and other art forms offer proven benefits for physical and mental health, can reduce the need for GP appointments, and provide vital social support that everyone needs to be as well as they can be. Hera groups are safe, non-judgmental spaces and are also very enjoyable – fun is healthy!

Hera activities are free for anyone in the city living with long-term physical and/or mental health conditions. We are happy to take referrals from groups and organisations, and you can also refer yourself. Taking place in the community and at GP surgeries, HERA’s ‘core’ and ‘priority’ programmes help to reduce health inequalities through creativity, and open up access to arts and culture for people who might otherwise find it hard to get involved because of their health. We have two events taking place during Artists’ Open House for people to find out more and try one of our activities.

Visit the HERA exhibition, or attend an event to experience for yourself, and learn how people can improve their health and wellbeing by engaging with HERA programmes.
